The Zandstrooisterloop is the evening race of Schoonebeek, held each year on the Friday evening of the August festival week. The course leads through the centre of the village, so runners and spectators keep meeting one another all evening. Adults choose between 5 and 10 kilometres. For children there is the St. Isabelle Kidsrun, divided into four age categories, so the youngest have a distance of their own too. Loopgroep Schoonebeek organises the race together with a local partner. Because it falls in the middle of the festival week, the evening simply continues with the village programme after the finish.
