Runeira measures anonymous visits with Umami for everyone, without cookies or account identifiers. No advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party marketing.

We use a small amount of necessary cookies or local storage for the parts of Runeira that should keep working reliably.

- The last place you chose (or the town nearest to your location), so the homepage shows the races near it (functional cookie runeira_place: the town and its coordinates rounded to about a kilometre, or your own rounded position when no town lies within 25 km; kept for 12 months or until you clear the place)
Your location
On the homepage you can use your location instead of typing a place. Your browser only asks for it after you tap “Use my location”. Runeira rounds the position to about a kilometre and sends it to our server once, to find the nearest town; the server does not log or store it. From then on Runeira uses only that town, like a place you typed: it is kept in your browser as the last place you chose (local storage and the functional cookie runeira_place). If no town lies within 25 km, your rounded position itself becomes the place: it is then kept and sent with race searches in the same way.
Analytics
Runeira uses Umami for lightweight, cookieless website analytics. It measures aggregate visits to understand what is useful, without tracking individuals.
