The Weesp Triathlon has now run for thirty-five editions and is a quarter triathlon: 1 kilometre of swimming, 40 kilometres of cycling and 10 kilometres of running. Start and finish are on the Hogeweyselaan in Weesp. Parts of the town are closed off for the race, so the course runs straight through Weesp and spectators stand close to the transition zone. Participants are placed in starting waves on the basis of the times they submit and the limits set by the organisation, which ultimately decides who starts in which wave. The number of places is capped and a waiting list is used, with residents of Weesp given priority within the rules.
