About the race

WatersnoodMarathon brings running, walking and remembrance together in the Land van Maas en Waal. The 42.195 km route runs from Overasselt to Dreumel, following the path taken by the Meuse floodwater after the 1925/1926 dike breach. Participants start at Sporthal De Passelegt and finish at Sporthal D'n Hoender, with the course using dike roads along the northern banks of the Meuse through Heumen, Wijchen and West Maas en Waal as much as possible. Whether run solo, as a relay or walked, this marathon is as much about place and memory as it is about distance.
