The Veluwepoortloop of AV Nijkerk sets off from the clubhouse on the Hassemanpad, behind the station, and heads from there into the countryside around Nijkerk. There are two distances: 10 kilometres, going at eleven, and 5 kilometres ten minutes later. The course is almost entirely paved, with stretches of woodland along the way and views over the farmland between Nijkerk and the Veluwe. The finish is on the athletics track itself, which makes the closing metres easy to follow.
