The Sint Nicolaasloop is the annual race organised by Quo Vadis Bunschoten through the Eempolder, between Bunschoten and Eemdijk. It always falls on the Saturday before Saint Nicholas' birthday. The 5, 10 and 15 kilometres start and finish on the athletics track: you begin with half a lap, leave the track towards the Sint-Nicolaashoofd and come back along polder roads and the dyke. The longest distance sets off first and the shortest last. Beforehand, youngsters up to twelve run a 1200-metre kids' race, three laps of the track. The fastest three women and men on each distance receive a prize, and every participant gets a medal and a small gift afterwards.
