The Halve van Nijkerk is the big running day in the centre of Nijkerk: the start is on the Molenplein, the finish some three hundred metres further on at 't Plein. The running programme consists of a half marathon, 10 kilometres and 5 kilometres, with a KidsRun in between and a BusinessRun for company teams. The walkers set off first, halfway through the afternoon, choosing between routes of 10, 15 and 20 kilometres, plus a 40-kilometre walk that raises money for brain tumour research. Changing tents and a supervised bag drop stand on the start area, and every finisher receives their own medal. The running courses are officially certified.
