Urban Trail Leiden

About the race

The Urban Trail Leiden is not a race but a discovery tour through the old town, with a course that leads straight through buildings normally closed to the public: churches, courtyards, university buildings and other places you never see as a passer-by. The start and finish are in the Pieterskerk, where the event area opens early in the morning and participants set off in waves a quarter of an hour apart. There is a short and a long route, and you only decide on the day which one you run. Times are not recorded, because this is about discovering rather than performing. Every edition gets a new course, so even regulars keep seeing different corners of the city.
