The Triami Sprint Triathlon in Deventer is built as a supersprint: 250 metres swimming, 10 kilometres cycling and 2.5 kilometres running. That short, compact format deliberately makes the race accessible to anyone trying a triathlon for the first time, while experienced athletes find in it a sharp season opener — short here mostly means hard. The event also hosts the national youth and junior circuit, in which athletes aged twelve to nineteen compete in teams for points in a fast-moving relay. For complete newcomers the organisers run a lead-in programme that builds towards a first start.
