The IJsselloop is Deventer's big spring race, starting on the Houtmarkt and finishing on the Brink. The main distances are 5, 10 and 15 kilometres. The 5 kilometres is called the Bruggenloop for good reason: it crosses the IJssel and comes straight back. The 10 kilometres heads into the floodplains over the Wilhelmina bridge and returns via the railway bridge and the Welle quay to the centre, while the 15 kilometres combines both routes. There are also kids' runs, a G-Loop for runners with a disability, and formats for students and companies. With almost nine thousand participants this is the city's largest sporting event.
