The Salland Zorgverzekeringen IJsselloop is Deventer's major spring run, starting on Houtmarkt/Verzetslaan and finishing on the Brink. On Sunday 12 April 2026, almost 9,000 participants ran through the city, along the IJssel and over the bridges, with 5, 10 and 15 km as the main distances. The 10 km crosses the Wilhelminabrug towards the floodplains and returns via the railway bridge and the Welle to the centre; the 15 km combines the 5 km and 10 km routes. Kidsrun, G-Loop, student and company formats make the day widely accessible, while the Brink and thousands of spectators create a distinctly Deventer atmosphere.
