LoveLife Run Deventer is a sponsored run where running meets recovery, support and involvement. Cancer patients and survivors push their limits here, together with the people close to them and their carers, and get sponsored for cancer research. Participants choose 1 or 5 kilometres and may either walk or run that distance, deliberately keeping the threshold low. Anyone entering as a patient or survivor can train beforehand under the guidance of coaches from a local athletics club, with the aim of covering that 1 or 5 kilometres at their own pace. Every participant gets a personal fundraising page, so the story behind the entry is as visible as the distance itself. The proceeds go to cancer research and to local causes around the Deventer hospital.
