Tri-Ambla is the cross triathlon of Ameland and reaches its twenty-fourth edition in 2026. The swim is in the Wadden Sea, after which the cycling and running go through the dunes, the woods and across the beach — no tarmac, then, but sand and forest track. Two distances are on the programme: the M over 500 metres swimming, 17 kilometres cycling and 5 kilometres running, and the L over 1 kilometre, 35 and 10. Both can be covered solo or as a pair or trio. Check-in takes place at the first transition zone in the harbour. For young athletes there is a separate Tri-Ambla Junior. The event is organised by 4Ameland.
