The Trail du Tyrol sets off from Le Tyrol on the Rue Augile in Pétigny, part of the municipality of Couvin in the south of Namur province. There are five distances: 7, 14, 22, 33 and 42 kilometres, which makes the range unusually wide for a single trail day — from a first taste to a full marathon distance over rough ground. The starts run backwards, from half past eight in the morning for the 42 to half past ten for the 7, so the field converges at the finish by midday. The race is part of the Challenge Trail de la Forêt du Pays de Chimay and is organised by the Traileurs des Fagnes.
