The Jogging de l'Athénée Royale de Beaumont is a fixture of the Challenge Hainaut. There are two distances: 10.6 kilometres with 162 metres of climbing and a shorter loop of 4.45 kilometres with 110. Within the circuit that short loop carries the harder rating of the two, because its climbing is compressed into less than half the distance. Both routes end the same way: with the côte up to the tour Salamandre, the medieval keep that rises above Beaumont. Anyone with something left there finishes well. Start and finish are on the rue Germain Michiels, with changing rooms, showers and a bag drop. The youth races leave in the early afternoon and the main race at three o'clock.
