About the race

The TexelTrail sets off at De Krim on the Roggeslootweg in De Cocksdorp, on the northern tip of Texel. There are three distances: 15 and 24 kilometres, which go at twelve, and a marathon of 42.2 kilometres that leaves an hour earlier. The routes are almost entirely unpaved and combine shell paths, sand tracks, loose sand and mud. The course crosses De Slufter among other places, where sea and wind redraw the landscape continually. That loose sand is the real opponent: it costs more than the kilometres suggest. There is timing, refreshment along the way and a shuttle bus from the ferry harbour.
