The Stratenloop of Weerde belongs to the summer festival of this village in the Flemish Brabant municipality of Zemst and has been going for almost forty years. The start and finish are at the marquee on Ketelveldweg, which means that after the finish you step straight into the village party. Runners choose between 7 and 10 kilometres on a flat course through the streets and the surrounding countryside. The race is carried by the local association that also organises the rest of the summer festival, which gives it the character of a village activity rather than a fixture on the racing calendar.
