Den Elewijtse Halve is a classic road race in Elewijt and one of the most recognisable half marathons in Flanders. The race has been held since 1975 and brings a broad field of participants together in and around the village centre during the Pentecost weekend. Alongside the half marathon, there are 5 km and 10.5 km races, plus free youth and G-sport distances, so the event remains both competitive and accessible. The course is paved, run over several laps and organised with marshals, aid stations and medical support. Through that combination of tradition, clear race structure and local village atmosphere, Den Elewijtse Halve is more than just a fast half marathon.
