The Stadsloop of Biervliet is the running evening within the Geuzenfeesten, the three-day village festival around the market square. It begins at seven, and the programme runs from a kilometre for the youngsters through 2.5, 5 and 7.5 kilometres up to the 10. Because the race falls in the middle of the festival, you run past terraces, food trucks and a funfair rather than along closed-off streets — the crowd is there anyway. The Geuzenfeesten themselves are free to attend; only the race asks you to register. The Stadsraad Biervliet directs the race and the athletics club De Wielingen handles the timing.
