The OVET Triathlon turns entirely on the Otheense Kreek near Terneuzen. You begin with a water start in the creek itself, then ride laps towards the Margarethapolder and run back along the water afterwards. The main events are the quarter and the eighth triathlon, and that eighth can also be covered in pairs or threes, so that one swimmer, one cyclist and one runner race as a single entry. Two other things on the programme are not triathlons at all: a run-bike-run for youngsters in two age groups, and the Otheense Kreek swim over 500 or 1000 metres, which you can book on its own without ever getting on a bike.
