About the race

Marathon Zeeuws-Vlaanderen links Hulst and Terneuzen with a city-to-city marathon; the direction reverses every edition, so one year you run towards the Western Scheldt and the next year away from it. The route takes in the historic ramparts of Hulst, the Clinge and Steen woods, small villages and hamlets, and a good share of it is unpaved. Saturday offers the individual marathon alongside a relay marathon and city runs of 5 and 10 kilometres, with a kids' run as well. Sunday brings the walking marathon over the same distance. The result feels more like a running weekend for the whole region than a single race.
