RUN Winschoten is the oldest ultra race in the Netherlands and reaches its fiftieth edition in 2026, spread across two days. The 100 kilometres is the event that gave the race its name; alongside it there are a 50 kilometres, a marathon, a 5 kilometres and a relay of ten times ten kilometres, with a separate classification for municipal teams. Walking is possible too. The course is entirely closed to traffic and runs through Winschoten and Heiligerlee, where streets are decorated for the occasion. Start and finish are at one central point, so runners keep passing the same crowd — on the hundred kilometres that means many times over.
