Oosterzele Loopt

About the race

Oosterzele Loopt is the road race organised by Joggingclub Oosterzele, running through the village and its immediate surroundings during the Whitsun fair. The afternoon opens with the children's races over 300, 600 and 1200 metres, split by age group; every young participant receives a commemorative medal afterwards. At four in the afternoon the main race sets off over 4, 8 or 12 kilometres, with a timing mat at the start. Start and finish are on the Dorp, right by the town hall, where entries and bib collection are handled as well. Marshals and a water point line the route, and after the finish there is fruit and a goody bag in exchange for the returned bib. Because of the fair the village centre is closed to cars, so parking is in the surrounding streets.
