Obstacle Run Alphen is the muddy sports branch of Zomerspektakel aan het Meer at the Zegerplas. Participants choose between a 4 km Family Run with 25 obstacles and an 8 km Family Run with 40 obstacles, on a course with sand, water and mud. The short distance is clearly aimed at families, with accompaniment rules for younger children; the long distance remains accessible but asks for more endurance and nerve. Water, bananas and first aid are provided along the way, while the practical side includes changing rooms, an unguarded cloakroom, a shirt and a medal for participants under 18. The event is therefore not about a classic finish time, but about climbing, crawling, getting wet together and reaching the finish smiling and in one piece.
