20 van Alphen

About the race

The 20 van Alphen is a road race in Alphen aan den Rijn that bills itself as the opening classic of the Dutch running season. The event runs over two days: the first evening brings the FunRun over a lap of 1 or 2.5 kilometres, the longer option of which may also be walked. The next day holds the 3, 5 and 10 kilometres, the half marathon and a one-kilometre family run. The course is fully paved, officially certified, and loops through and around the town, finishing in the Burgemeester Visserpark. Musical support points line the route. The event has now reached sixty editions and sells out on individual distances every year.
