The Misty Lakes Trail runs through the woods between Lieshout, Gerwen, Nuenen, Geldrop, Mierlo and Stiphout, over ninety percent of it unpaved. The course owes its name to the ponds: small pools between heath and forest where the mist hangs on into the early morning. What you run are short climbs and winding singletracks rather than long straight stretches. There are five distances from 10 to 55 kilometres, and the longest add the Gulbergen — at over sixty metres the roof of Brabant, which in this region means something. All routes are waymarked and also available as gpx. The event is organised by Runnersclub Lieshout.
