Marathon Rotterdam

About the race

The Marathon Rotterdam is one of the major city marathons in the Netherlands and never feels separate from the city itself: the start lies at the foot of the Erasmus bridge, the route runs through Rotterdam and the finish is on the Coolsingel. The course is fast and flat and draws an international field every year; the Dutch marathon championship is decided here. Around the marathon sits a broad weekend programme: the 10 kilometres, a city run, kids' runs, walks of 5, 10 and 15 kilometres and company formats as pairs or relays. The appeal lies as much in the setting and the long ribbons of spectators as in the times.
