About the race

The Bruggenloop Rotterdam is the 15 kilometres that crosses the city's iconic bridges around sunset, starting and finishing at Stadion Feijenoord. It is precisely that course that makes the race recognisable: you do not just run through Rotterdam but over the links that tie the skyline together, while the city lights up around you. Every participant gets a running light, which turns the bridges into a string of lights — the image this race is known for. Runners set off in several waves to manage the flow across the bridges. With timing and its own medal, this is the fixed end to the running year for many people in Rotterdam.
