Marathon Groningen powered by Campus Groningen brings a full marathon to the city on Sunday 31 May 2026, with start and finish on the Zernike Campus. The programme combines the marathon, half marathon, 10 kilometres and a 2.5-kilometre Kids Run; companies can enter teams for the 10 km and half marathon. The marathon follows one large loop across the campus, through the city centre and through Groningen's northern and southern outskirts. That gives the day more than fast kilometres alone: runners experience the city, the green surrounding area and the campus in one course. With official timing, aid stations, a medal and a charity element around Vrienden Beatrix Kinderziekenhuis, the event feels like a broad city running festival with clear marathon ambition.
