The Decemberloop Peize is a road race in Drenthe held on the Sunday before Christmas, over 5, 10 and 15 kilometres. The start is on the Boerakkerweg by the school: the 15 kilometres goes first and the shorter distances follow at ten-minute intervals. The 10 kilometres counts towards the De Kop Van Drenthe running circuit, with prize money per age category and gender; the 15 and the 5 kilometres are classified by gender only, with a separate junior classification up to and including age sixteen. Beforehand the children run their own Kidsrun over 800 or 1600 metres, free of charge and with a medal for every finisher. Registration, changing rooms and showers are at the sports centre, and the field is capped at a thousand runners.
