The LoveLife Run Hilversum is a sponsored run organised by Fight cancer, starting and finishing at the Mediapark by the Sound and Vision institute. Participants raise money beforehand and then run 5 or 10 kilometres; for children there are kids' runs of 400 and 800 metres. What sets the race apart is the make-up of the field: people living with or beyond cancer line up alongside their families, friends and clinicians, and many participants build towards it as a team. The proceeds go to cancer research and to local projects in the region, including exercise programmes for people living with and after cancer.
