Eemnesser Polderloop

About the race

The Eemnesser Polderloop is a running and walking event in the middle of the Eemnes polder, starting and finishing at the head of the Jonge Jaapeweg. Runners choose between 5, 10 and 15 kilometres; there is also a 5-kilometre walking route for anyone who would rather take the polder in on foot. All distances set off together, with a starting shot traditionally fired using carbide. The route follows quiet polder lanes and the cycle path along the Wakkerendijk, where the bells of Het Dikke Torentje ring out as the runners pass. Two water points wait along the way. The race is organised by the local rural youth association and the proceeds go to a project in South Africa.
