Loop Fiets Proef Marathon Drenthe

About the race

The Loop Fiets Proef Marathon turns on a simple arrangement: you cover half the route on foot and the other half by bike, in whichever order you choose. There is a marathon and a half, and you can take part solo, in a pair, a three or a four, with a team dividing among themselves who runs when and who rides. Along the way lie eight tasting stops with produce from Drenthe. The course leads out from Westerbork past woodland, heath, drift sand and villages. There is no timing and no classification — the organisers call it the marathon where you always finish. The event is run by Lions Westerbork and the local running group.
