Lauwersmeer Najaarsrun

About the race

The Lauwersmeer Najaarstocht sets off at the Bosschuur on De Rug in Lauwersoog, the Staatsbosbeheer activity centre on the edge of Nationaal Park Lauwersmeer. There are four distances — 5, 10 and 15 kilometres and a half marathon — and each can be covered either running or walking. The routes run largely on unpaved paths, including sections of the mountain bike route, with forest tracks, wide views over the Lauwersmeer and a sight of Schiermonnikoog. At half past ten the runners go first, the walkers after them. At the finish there is a medal, coffee and tea. The event is organised by Stichting 40Mijl.
