Teams of two alternate every lap and try to complete as many loops of about 1.3 km as possible in one hour; the final lap started before the finish signal still counts. Short 400 m and 800 m runs are available for children, so younger participants are part of the programme too. Music, a bar, light catering, prize giving and a bib raffle give the event a genuine school-festival atmosphere, while proceeds go to the school's social fund.
