The children run their distances of 1 and 3 kilometres first, after which the adults set off at half past six over 7.8 or 11.65 kilometres. Those two figures give away the character at once: not rounded advertising distances, but what the course over the Ardennes roads around Bertogne actually measures. The race belongs to the Challenge Famenne-Ardenne and stays otherwise compact and regional — the field comes largely from Bertogne and the villages around it.
