About the race

The HavendagenRun opens the Havendagen of Terneuzen, the three-day harbour festival on the Western Scheldt. The start and finish are on the Veerplein by the pontoon, and the route runs through the town centre past the Stadhuisplein and the Markt. In keeping with the maritime character of the event, the distances are set out in nautical miles rather than kilometres: you choose between 1, 3 or 5 nautical miles, which comes to roughly 1.85, 5.55 and 9.25 kilometres. The race sets off in the early evening, after which the programme on the Veerplein rolls on into the rest of the Havendagen, with a harbour market, boat trips and live music in the marquee.
