Halve Marathon Vlieland

About the race

The Halve Marathon Vlieland is the summer race of this Wadden island, with routes of 5.5 kilometres, 10 kilometres and the half marathon over 21.1 kilometres. The course runs through the island's dunes, where around a thousand runners pass in a single day. Children have a race of their own. The setting gives the day its own rhythm: participants arrive by boat and the race culminates in a party on the terrace of De Bolder. That combination of island atmosphere, dune landscape and a finish that feels more like a festival than a race makes it popular: entries tend to sell out quickly.
