Halve Marathon Lauwersoog-Ulrum

About the race

The Halve Marathon Lauwersoog-Ulrum runs from the coast inland into the Groningen countryside. The half marathon starts on the harbour grounds at Lauwersoog and leads through the Lauwersmeer National Park, past the shrimp processing plant at Zoutkamp and through that fishing village, finishing by way of Niekerk in Ulrum; runners are taken to the start beforehand by bus from Ulrum. The 10 kilometres and the 4 miles start in Ulrum itself, at the Neptunus café. The 10 kilometres first winds through the village and joins the half marathon route at Niekerk. All distances set off at the same time and finish at Neptunus, where the celebrations follow. Showers are available at the sports park.
