Groet Uit Schoorl Run

About the race

The Groet uit Schoorl Run is a road race through the dunes of North Holland, with 10 kilometres, a half marathon and 30 kilometres on the programme. All distances start on the Voorweg and finish on the Heereweg, with sports hall De Blinkerd a kilometre away serving as the base. The 10 kilometres is the headline distance and is certified by the Dutch athletics federation, so times count towards rankings and records. The 30 kilometres is one of the few left in the Netherlands and is widely used as preparation for a spring marathon. The routes run through the woods and dunes of Schoorl, Hargen and Groet, with the sea just behind the dune ridge. The village is closed to through traffic on race day.
