Pre-Run Egmond Halve Marathon

About the race

The Pre-Run Egmond Halve Marathon is the dress rehearsal for January's Egmond Halve Marathon and uses the same kind of ground. Start and finish are at Camping Bakkum on the Zeeweg in Castricum aan Zee, after which the route heads into the Noordhollands Duinreservaat: beach, dune, forest, heath and a series of short but solid climbs. The course is marked with arrows and staffed at the key points to keep you heading the right way. You may well run into a herd of wild horses or Scottish Highland cattle along the way. There are two distances, 8 and 16 kilometres, both with a generous time limit. Le Champion organises the run, which is meant above all as a checkpoint in your training.
