The Groene Hard- en Wandelloop runs across the paths of the Zoeterwoude polders, starting and finishing at the Veld 11 ice rink on the Nieuweweg at Sportpark Haasbroek. The name is meant literally: runners choose between 5.5 and 10 kilometres, walkers between 7.5, 10, 15 and 20 kilometres over partly unpaved but easily passable paths. The walkers set off in the morning within a broad time window and the runners start later, so the two groups stay out of each other's way. There is a free sports activity for children. The event is organised by IJsclub Zoeterwoude together with other clubs from the village; members of the ice club take part free of charge.
