The Gaasperplas Run is the annual race of the Feniks athletics club in Amsterdam Zuidoost, starting and finishing on the track at the Karspeldreef. The programme is deliberately broad: children's runs of 1 and 2 kilometres and recreational runs over 5 and 10, so a whole family can take part on the same morning. The course seeks out the green of Zuidoost, so that in one of the more densely built parts of Amsterdam you still run largely through parkland. Worth knowing if you are planning a season: this race does not stand alone but is one of seven in the Rondje Mokum circuit.
