The Sri Chinmoy 50K & 100K is a lap-based ultra in the Amsterdamse Bos, starting and finishing on the open clearing De Uitkijk on the Nieuwe Kalfjeslaan, opposite the Hurley hockey club. Runners choose between 50 and 100 kilometres and cover them on a shaded lap of 2226.42 metres with a small climb halfway round. The 100 kilometres sets off in the morning with a twelve-hour limit; the 50 kilometres follows around midday. Every lap you pass a well-stocked aid station with water, cola, sports drink, soup, fruit, bread and cheese among other things. That short loop keeps things manageable for runners and crew alike, and means you keep running into the same faces.
