The Dutch Triathlon Series in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel is held at the Ouderkerkerplas, a stone's throw from Amsterdam. Two distances are on offer, both also as relays: the sprint over 750 metres of swimming, 20 kilometres of cycling and 5 kilometres of running, and the Olympic distance over 1,500 metres of swimming, 40 kilometres of cycling and 10 kilometres of running. The swim begins with a water start in the larger lake. The bike course consists of loops that participants cover several times. The run course can fairly be called technical: plenty of turns on a partly unpaved path around the water, closing over a long pier. The starts are spread across the day in waves. Amsterdam Sport Events organises the race.
