Bonifatiusloop Dokkum is a major Frisian running day with start and finish at the Bonifatiuskapel. The 24th edition combines 5 km, 10 km and half marathon races with the Sionsberg walking event and the free Kabelnoord Kidsrun. The running courses quickly leave the chapel area for the ramparts, windmills, water and historic edges of Dokkum; the half marathon continues towards Ee before returning to town. Walkers choose from 6, 10, 15, 25 or 35 km, while children run 600 metres, 1250 metres or 2000 metres. That makes the Bonifatiusloop a race, a walking day and a town celebration at once.
