Wetter- en Willerun

About the race

The Wetter- en Willerun is a road race in Burgum, organised by Stichting Wetter- en Willerun. The start and finish are on the ice rink grounds along Prins Bernhardstraat, and the course runs through and around the Wetter- en Willepark and the surrounding Frisian countryside. Four distances are on the programme: 5 kilometres, a quarter marathon of 10.5 kilometres, a 25 kilometres for those who want to go further, and a 2 kilometre Kidsrun. The longest distance sets off first, with the shorter ones following during the afternoon. The foundation links the race to a good cause from its own region. Route marshalling, traffic stewards, cycling guides and water stations keep everything running smoothly, so the easy-going character goes hand in hand with a serious competitive set-up.
