The DiemerCross is a small-scale cross-country race on the grounds of the De Eenhoorn riding stables in Diemen. The course runs over unpaved paths and through meadows in a corner of Diemen that is barely accessible the rest of the year and is opened up specially for the day. That gives the race a genuine cross-country character: mud, grass and changing footing set the pace. The set-up is down-to-earth and local, with events for youngsters and adult runners alike. Entry is possible online in advance, but anyone who forgets can still buy a race number at the stables up to a quarter of an hour before the start. A nearby athletics club has recently taken over the organisation.
