The Buffelrun is the obstacle run of Boerdonk, starting and finishing on the Coxsebaan. The event stretches across two days and draws thousands of participants each year, which is remarkable for a village of this size. Distances of 6, 8 and 12 kilometres are on offer, alongside shorter runs for children. The course revolves around mud and obstacles: participants plough through meadows, water and constructions where speed matters less than perseverance and teamwork. The organisation leans entirely on volunteers, more than four hundred of them, which underlines the village character. Spectators can watch free of charge, which makes the Buffelrun as much a village day out as a race.
