Borgerswold Loop is a recreational Wednesday evening run organised by SV Veendam Atletiek in the Borgerswold recreation area. On 17 June 2026, the start and finish area is at the balloon field/event site on Fauna in Veendam. Children can take part in youth runs of 800 m and 1.6 km. Participants aged 13 and over choose 2.7, 5.4 or 8.1 km, made up of one, two or three laps of 2.7 km. That lap uses a mix of paved and unpaved surfaces, keeping the event accessible while still varied. The main run is deliberately recreational: there is no official time registration or final ranking, although a finish clock is available. Borgerswold is therefore mainly about running together in a green setting, not about chasing a results table.
