About the race

Backyard Run Borgsweer is a backyard run in the Groningen village of Borgsweer, where rhythm matters more than a classic finish time. The lap is 6.706 kilometres, starts exactly on the hour and can be completed up to twelve times on 13 June 2026, adding up to 50 miles. That makes the day a test of pacing, recovery and leaving again: runners who return within the hour use the remaining minutes as rest, while arriving too late means a DNF. The route follows the Termunterzijldiep and the connecting canal through De Grootte Polder nature area back to Liesbethpad, with roughly thirty percent unpaved surface. Around start and finish there is a participant camp with timing, aid, tent space, toilets and showers, so the event leans strongly on support and on getting through the day together.
